Originally the festival has been covering Ballroom and Latin American dancing in categories of adult amateur, professional couples and formation teams. Besides, two invitation events were added that brought extra interest of the audience: the Professional Team Match and the Exhibition Competition. Apart from professional couples, the Blackpool Dance Festival gives opportunity for amateur dancers to participate and show their skills. The only limitation of the Blackpool rules is that no split partnerships is allowed. It means that professional competitors may only have one partner in each event.

Для меня Winter Garden - это намоленное место с волшебной и невероятно мощной энергетикой легендарнейших танцоров со всего мира. И, конечно же, для меня огромная честь быть там, это особое место, настоящая танцевальная Мекка. Атмосфера на конкурсе замечательная.
Мы танцевали под оркестр, тот же, что и на профессиональных турнирах - они, конечно, незабываемые. Если сравнивать с годами пандемии, конечно же, в этом году на турнир приехало очень много пар, и это радует. Я заметила, что в этом году судьям пришлось нелегко - никто не ожидал такого количества участников.
Судьи фактически не сходили с паркета. Видимо, организаторы не ожидали такой явки танцевальных пар, а может быть, просто перестраховались. Возможно, на следующий год будет расширена судейская панель.
